Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., headquartered in Ridgeland, Mississippi, is the largest producer and distributor of eggs in the U.S. It sells eggs under Land O'Lakes, Eggland's Best, Sunny Meadow, and other brands through national and regional grocery store chains, independent supermarkets, and foodservice distributors in 38 U.S. states. In 2023, the company employed 2,976 people and generated $3.1 billion in revenue.
Cal-Maine uses incarcerated labor at some of its production facilities. For example, incarcerated individuals in Kansas are sent to day jobs at Cal-Maine factories.
Cal-Maine's human rights policies prohibit the use of forced labor but do not ban the use of prison labor.
