Sony cameras are used as part of Israel’s surveillance systems in the occupied East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip. The cameras in Jerusalem are part of a visual surveillance system called Mabat 2000, which Israel deployed in the Old City of Jerusalem to keep that part of Jerusalem under persistent surveillance. As of 2018, six Sony cameras were reported by Who Profits in that area. Additionally, as of 2019, Sony surveillance cameras were seen at the Erez checkpoint, located at the main entrance to the blockaded Gaza Strip.
