Liberty Mutual Group is the ninth largest property and casualty insurance company in the world, operating in 27 countries through its subsidiaries. Liberty Mutual is a mutual company, meaning it is not publicly traded on the stock market, and it is owned by its policyholders rather than shareholders.  

In the U.K., Liberty Mutual provides employer’s liability insurance to Italian weapons company Leonardo, according to an analysis that studied the connections between insurance providers and weapons companies. Leonardo provides the Israeli navy with warship guns.
